Nightmare on Elm Street…not really, but kind of.

Upon hearing about the restaurant, I was quite enticed to try the cuisine. I had expectations of what the venue would be like and how the food would be served. I was disappointed with what I saw. It wasn’t really bad but I was expecting something completely different. I was looking forward to eating at a sit-down vegetarian restaurant. However, it was actually a self-served buffet style (but not buffet) place. When we entered the cashier could tell with the look in our faces that we were quite confused. He tried to explain to us how the restaurant works, basically you get a plate fill it with food and they weight how much you have to pay. Now this was quite confusing for all of us, so many questions popped up in my head. How do I know how much is on my plate? Is there a weighing scale? How much is a hundred grams? And what do I do when I realize its beyond the scale I want to get? Can I return it? There was too much effort to get food. I don’t think I would bother going through all this on an empty stomach. I’m gonna want to grab my food and leave.

Not only that, the food was cold. I was hoping for a wider selection but there wasn’t much. Having warm food would have been nice. The drinks were overpriced, 3.50 for a juicebox that would be a lot cheaper elsewhere. They didn’t show the tap water as well, it was hidden behind a wall. Its sort of a trick to force one to buy an overpriced drink. The venue wasn’t cozy as well. The tables were quite cramped close to each other. There were exit doors that were locked. (Without signs saying that they were)

Also, seeing a mosquito repellant right next to your table isn’t very appetizing. Actually made me think about why it had to be within reach. It’s quite disgusting.

The place wasn’t really that bad. It is cleaner and better than a fastfood chain. Its just that from the price cost, one would expect something better than what they have. Also, I really had high expectations.

  2. You hit the whole experience on the nose.. it wasn’t bad but it defiantly wasn’t the best!!

The mosquito repellant right beside the table was terrible especially where they prepare food, not sanitary what so ever!.

If you could change something, what would you change?
