SIGNS: Blank? // Kyle Lleses

With all the craziness in the streets of downtown Toronto, seeing something like this isn’t very new to the pedestrians. It’s part of the culture of the city and is already too much of an everyday thing for people just to walk by you without even noticing you. Not only that, people are always in a rush being busy running to get to places. Given the situation, it is very hard to catch someone’s attention.

To be different, I didn’t put anything on my sign. I held up a blank black piece of board and waved it in the air and pretended that what was on there was something worth protesting for. A lot of people would just pass by or some would take a glance and pretend they never saw you as they approach your direction. I was approached by a  man who said “You don’t have anything on your sign.” in a very serious tone. I also got people who would look at the sign, look away and look back again and say “Wait. What?”. Some people asked what it was for. And I answered with “Nothing…”. There was also a lady caught in the video who constantly looked back and look away from me. She seemed very curious about it. I was also cheered by a homeless (and possible crack head)…yeah that got awkward.
